In this series of work I am layering discarded materials from old clothing and theatrical fabrics such as scrim and muslin with my painted canvas pieces. Some areas are completely opaque while others translucent; offering a glimpse of the surface below. Faced with my own history and obstacles to healing, these works externalize my own process of understanding differences, complexity and fatigue.
